Postseason Awards Recap
Hey everyone, we had a wonderful evening last night celebrating our community with some beautiful weather, some really kind words, and a lot of really great food and fun in the pool! I have a recap of the awards that were received last night, but because I can't not send a long email, a couple thanks that I neglected to give last night!
First, thank you to all our families for the generous and thoughtful gifts that were given to the coaches and reps. They really mean a lot to us. I personally cherish a handwritten note or picture from the kids and have seen how they impact our coaches quite a bit as well. Your support and impact, especially for our teenage coaches, is immeasurable. Thank you!
Second, Brooke Keit. Thank you! She does so much behind the scenes and provides so much to this community that cannot be measured. We have joked about how we are complete opposites, which is what I think works so well, but we approach swim team from the same basis: What is best for the kids? I'm very proud and fortunate to call her one of my dearest friends. Thank you, Brooke!
Third, our Steering Committee. They do so much work to prepare for the season and make it run smoothly. Please thank THEM when you see them. A special shout-out to Shama Whitley, who has run our concessions for many years and will be moving on. She is one of my favorite people to be around and has made a massive impact on our community. Thank you!
OK, enough from this old sap, here are the awards. If you weren't able to attend, I'm happy to drop off any awards in your mailbox; just let me know! Any ribbons and silver caps are in the normal ribbon boxes on the pool deck and either myself or any of the coach/lifeguards can get them for you when you see us at the pool. I have attached a list of the silver cap winners and I've also attached a team picture, which I somehow didn't consider doing until someone reminded me last night. Also, a picture of the LOADED bags that our families donated to the YMCA's New Beginnings Project! You guys rule!
