The Week Ahead (6/28-7/4)
Good morning, Stingray families! Lots of info this week:
Declare your availabilities
Peacehaven - Declarations due by TONIGHT at 6PM.
Finals - If you know your schedule, please go ahead and declare your availability right now for July 12th. There is a ton of planning that goes into that day, so the more time we have, the more likely we are to do our best.
If you want to be super-prepared, at our last league meeting, the GAC informed us our Finals meet next year will be either on July 11th or 12th (Sunday or a Monday). Our reps will be voting on either Monday or Sunday at a meeting in September. With our meet on a Sunday last year, it was by far our highest attendance ever as a league and our availability for volunteers has never been higher. But if you have strong feelings about it one way or another, please let us know.
Peacehaven meet - Tuesday @ home
Pizza and a movie post-meet on the playground. This is an annual event for us, as we are with our neighborhood friends in this meet and lots of folks stay around after. This year's movie is Toy Story 1. To order pizzas, use THIS GOOGLE FORM. Orders due by 6pm MONDAY.
We will have a team picture prior to the meet. We will plan for that picture to take place at 4:30, so please plan to arrive at 4:20 on Tuesday. Please wear your team shirts. If you don't have your team shirt, we will have them out prior to the team picture.
The meet theme is red/white/blue.
Check out the volunteering opportunities for this meet and fill them up if you can. This will be a very fun meet with our friends. More detailed info on the way tomorrow for those declared available for the meet.
From our social chairs:
We have moved our Ice Cream Sundae Bar and Service Event to the end of the year potluck!
We will collect new and gently used backpacks and school supplies to donate to the Robinhood YMCA for their Bright Beginnings Program. The Y will give these to kids in need before school starts. Swimmers will write encouraging notes to put in the backpacks. Following that, we will have an ice cream sundae bar! Please start collecting backpacks, crayons, markers, highlighters, loose-leaf paper, composition notebooks, and single-subject wide-ruled notebooks. The donations are in lieu of the greenway cleanup (since there is rarely any trash there). However, if you are ever on the greenway connector and see garbage, please pick it up! We have adopted this portion of the greenway and like to keep it clean!
TYDE Start/Dive Clinics
There is a TON of New Sherwood representation in those who have signed up for these clinics, which is fantastic. If you would still like to sign up, you will surely have some NS friends there with you. Link is HERE.
