The Week Ahead (6/14-6/20) Brookberry & City Meet
Hey everyone, we had a great meet last week to knock the rust and nervousness off a bit. Looking forward to another fun one this week.
Practice Schedule
Our practices will be at the normal times Monday through Thursday. NO PRACTICE Tuesday evening or Friday morning, due to the Brookberry and City Meets.
Meet AT Brookberry Tuesday
Our first away meet is this Tuesday. Please declare whether or not your swimmer will be attending ASAP. The deadline to do so is 6PM TONIGHT. After 6PM, any changes need to be texted to Coach Jenn at 336-340-7410. For those signed up, I will send out a more detailed meet guideline once I receive directions from Brookberry. In the past, Brookberry would not allow anyone to even enter the pool deck until 4:30 and I'm guessing our warmups will be around 5:05. Our theme for this meet is WEAR RED. Plan accordingly!
Brookberry Volunteers
We still are in need of several volunteers: 2nd half clerk of course, 1st half data entry, Stingray Zone for 9-10 boys (1st half) and 9-10 girls (2nd half), and 3 more timers for the 2nd half. Please consider volunteering and signing up at the jobs tab next to the meet on Swimtopia. If something has fallen through, please remove yourself or let us know so we can make arrangements. As always, if you have any questions or concerns about the jobs, please let us know. Swim meets truly take a village!
Swimmers of the Week
Ava Kate McGrady and Katy Meeks (as a pair)
Coach Jenn says: For being the best post-meet helpers putting back all the chairs at the tables.
Cliff Ferguson
Coach Jenn says: at the last minute, he swam up in the 7-8 boys free relay at the end of the night. He jumped right in and helped that team finish 3rd!
Everett Minta
Coach Jenn says: for swimming his first IM and doing it legally despite, not quite knowing how to transition between strokes until just before the event (fun fact: all 24 stingrays who swam IM on Tuesday did so legally!)
Russell Horton
Coach Claire says: he’s a great listener and always has a positive attitude!
Clayton Fadley
Jeremy says: Clayton swam in my favorite race of the night, showing great heart and effort in his 100 freestyle race!
Thanks for another great week. Go Stingrays!
