Peacehaven and Finals info

Hi all, I'm going to begin and end this email the same way.  PLEASE DECLARE YOUR AVAILABILITY FOR FINALS on July 15th.  We have a hard deadline that we have to turn in our swimmers on Wednesday, so please please please do this ASAP.  As always, we are happy to make it work out for you if your swimmers can swim on that day.

Peacehaven meet (Tuesday July 9)

This is our final league meet with our friendly neighborhood rivals, the Peacehaven Dolphins.  This is largely going to be a normal meet, with a few tweaks.  Please arrive at 4:20 with your swimmers marked up and with their team shirts on (if they have one) so that we can take a team picture.  Our warm-ups will be from 4:40-5:00, a timers/officials meeting at 5:15 and we would like to honor our seniors at 5:25 before the meet starts at 5:30.  The theme will be NEON.  We have about 400 glow sticks to hand out and Peacehaven has also been invited to participate, so it should be a great time.  We will once again be offering hot dogs and other general concessions during the meet.  Please declare your availability (yes or no) by today at 6PM.

Post-meet

Directly after the meet, we will be screening Cars on a projector on the playground.  We will have pizza delivered to the pool.  You can pre-order and pre-pay for your pizza now until 6PM MONDAY July 8 HERE.

Volunteers

We are still in need of a few volunteers.  A 2nd half Clerk of Course Runner, a 2nd half concessions worker, and parking attendants are still needed.  YOU ALL ARE AWESOME.  THANK YOU.

Greenway Cleanup/Ice Cream Social/Service Project

Remember that today at 2pm is our ice cream social and service projects.  Everyone will meet at the pool playground to begin work on the backpack project.  As the greenway thankfully stays pretty clean, we will then only send a few down to the greenway to clean while the others work on backpacks and return for some ice cream.

GFSL League Finals

League Finals are Monday, July 15th.  I will have much more info to come after Peacehaven.  But for now, know that we must turn in our roster this Wednesday.  While not all of our swimmers will qualify for Finals, we also hope to bring alternates.  Unfortunately, stuff happens and we really need those alternates who will be on deck during the competition.  So whether you think your kid will qualify or not, if they are around, please declare them available.  We will do whatever we can to get them to the GAC.  We will notify everyone of their roles as soon as we can.  I will also be asking for volunteers to be on deck at the GAC.  Parents are not allowed on the deck without a volunteer lanyard.  It's a fun time anyway and we help with clerk of course with our friends from Sherwood and Peacehaven.  The morning session (10 and under) is scheduled from 9-1pm.  The afternoon (11 and up) session is scheduled from 2:30-5:35.
