Busy Week Ahead! + Swimmers of the Week
Hello Stingray parents and swimmers! We have a very busy week ahead, so I've got a good amount of info to pass on this week. And PLEASE declare your availabilities (yes or no) for BOTH MEETS by 6PM TONIGHT.
Tuesday - Hosting Shallowford Lakes
We are hosting our meet this Tuesday. We will have our standard arrive at 4:45 time to swim, warmups at 5:05 and timers/officials meeting at 5:15 with a meet start of 5:30. BUT we are having pre-meet popsicles! Please join us at around 4:20 if possible to partake in the popsicles. If you are bringing popsicles, please bring 12-20 of whichever popsicles/icees that you choose.
We do have a few volunteer opportunities available for this meet: We have openings for the 9-10 boys Stingray Zone, a spot in the clerk of course, and a few spots for parking attendants(really only from 4:30-5:30). I know those aren't the funnest jobs, but we would appreciate any help you can provide. Please sign up at the green job signup button next to the Shallowford meet.
The theme for Tuesday is red, white, and blue for the Olympics, 4th of July, and general fun! We had a really nice participation at our last meet, so we hope it continues with this fun theme. Our post-meet dinner is still TBD.
Thursday @ Oak Valley
Our second meet will be held at Oak Valley. I will not know specifics of when we are allowed to show up and set up until a day or so before the meet, at best. I would plan on arriving around 4:30, as we should be the first warmup session. Let's bring our best behavior and sportsmanship. As a reminder, Glass bottles are not allowed at any pool. Neither is vaping, weapons, or any illegal activity. If spotted, we will alert the lifeguards and have you removed.
We do have a couple volunteer spots left in the Stingray Zone and a runner in the clerk of course. If available and willing, we appreciate the help.
Our current plan for a post-meet dinner will be at the nearby Dairi-O. Again, I will send out a better update when the meet is merged and I can send out a heat sheet, likely the day of the meet in the early afternoon.
TYDE Clinic on Tuesday morning
TYDE instructors will host a clinic at our pool on Tuesday morning. It will be the normal practice times, but the instructors will focus on breaststroke, starts and turns. I highly recommend attending that morning, if possible. All other practices, including FUN Friday will be normal this week.
One quick reminder: To be eligible to swim at league finals, your swimmer must swim in at least 2 league meets (does not include time trials, intrasquad, or city meet). If you are on the edge, please prioritize getting those swims in. We will need all hands on deck for finals.
