Buddy List, Swimmers of the Week, Team Shirt/Cap Pickup

Hey Stingray parents, a few more items to check off before the season begins.  Hopefully we will see you 10 and under parents at time trials this Saturday morning (8am arrival, 830start) and the ensuing pancake breakfast.

Buddy List

Our coaches have compiled our buddy list and I have attached it in this email and will post it on our bulletin board.  We are hopeful that our big buddies will be helpful to the little buddies.  Often times, the big buddies will provide little candies or trinkets to the little buddies.  But even more important is showing support.  The younger swimmers love to have that connection that is made when they see their big buddies cheer for them and vice versa.  The big buddies are also helpful in easing any nervousness the littles may experience before/during a meet and can help them feel a part of our swim family.

Swimmers of the Week

We will be highlighting different swimmers each week.  After our first full week of afternoon practices, the coaches already have some standouts.

Arbor Sebes

Coach Emma says:  She’s always ready and willing to swim in practice! She has a positive attitude and is a very good listener. She even practiced with the 11&ups after her 9/10 practice finished!

Daphne McGrady

Coach Lucy says:  She is a 6 and under that is ready to swim and works hard every day.

Mason Hepler

Coach Catherine says:  I’d like to recognize Mason Hepler for his enthusiasm, listening, and backstroke improvement!

Miles Hartman

Coach William says:  The swimmer I am picking for this week is Miles Hartman. He just listens well to all the little advice we give and really tries to implement what we say during practice.

Ben Olson

Coach Ben Grimstead says:  He is a great listener and always wants to improve.

Molly Cavanaugh

Coach Claire says:  She has gotten a lot better and always shows up to practice ready.

Team shirt/cap pickup

The new team swim caps (not personalized) are in and ready to be picked up!  Nikki Bonifas and Jeremy Strathman will be at practice today handing them out to your swimmers, as well as team shirts that have yet to be picked up.  Jeremy will also be present most of the week at practices so you can pick up then if Tuesday is not feasible.

Whew!  Long email, but great job last week parents and swimmers and let's get ready for time trials this Saturday and our first meet NEXT TUESDAY at Brookberry.

Go Stingrays!

Jeremy Strathman and Brooke Keit
