Preseason Info (Merch, Social Events, etc.) Lots of info!

Hey 2024 Stingray Families!  I have a bunch of info I'm going to put in this email which will also appear on our Swimtopia site if you need to refer back to it.

Social Events

Our Social events chairs (Stephanie Forrest and Emily Smith) are working hard to provide some extra fun for our swimmers this season. This is what they have planned so far.

Here are some dates to mark on your calendar:

Swim Team Kickoff Party and Potluck: May 18,4-7 p.m.

Pancake Brunch after Time Trials: June 1, 10-ish a.m.

Pre-Meet Popsicles: June 25

Pizza and Movie post Peace Haven meet: July 9

End-of-the-Year Awards and Potluck: July 18

Plus, post-meet dinners to be decided the week of!

Merch Store Open (through May 19)

A couple notes about Merch.  During registration, we allowed for people to opt in or out of the free team t-shirt.  I did not do a great job explaining that those were meant to be available as 1 per swimmer.  So if you ordered some for any non-swimmers, we apologize, but only those free team t-shirts ordered for the swimmers will be fulfilled.  I apologize for the confusion.

If you would like to purchase additional apparel, including personalized caps, our merch store is now open HERE.  These orders will all be batched together and ordered from our local printer and will then be delivered to our wonderful apparel chair, Nikki Bonifas.  We will then have them available to pick up.

Team suits

Team swimsuits are NOT REQUIRED, but encouraged.  These are ordered from Swim Outlet at our store HERE.  These are purchased and delivered directly to your house as ordered.

Stroke and Turn Judges

We can always use more stroke and turn judges, referees, and starters (refs and starters require 2 years of prior stroke and turn judging).  To become the a stroke and turn judge, you only need to attend one of THESE meetings.  You basically watch a movie and ask questions for an hour during the meeting and you are certified!  You must attend a meeting each season you wish to be certified.  Please consider doing so this year!  It is very informative and can grant you the best seat on the deck on swim day.

Pup Camp starts next week, so we are excited to welcome all the new swimmers to our team and hope to see everyone, new and old, at our Kickoff Party on Saturday, May 18.  Practices will begin the following Monday afternoon.  I'm sure I will have more to send out before then!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please email us at [email protected]

Thanks and have a great week!
