Years ago, we started a "Big Buddy - Little Buddy" program for our Stingrays.  It paired our younger swimmers with an older swimmer who could serve as a mentor, friend and superfan :)  Little buddies love to see their big buddy cheering for them at the end of their lane during meets and running into them at practice for a high five.  Big buddies are also a super helpful resource for new parents when it comes to getting arm markings done at meets and understanding meet flow and logistics (like how to spend a Stingray buck at concessions! ;) 

Thanks to our coaches for creating the attached Buddy List.  Swimmers 9 and under are paired with 1 or 2 big buddies 10 and over.  Check the list carefully - some big buddies have 2 little buddies!  The list will also be posted on the bulletin board at the pool for future reference.  

Parents, your job is to make sure your swimmer/s know the name/age of their buddy.  Big buddies, your job is to make an effort in the next week to meet and connect with their little buddy at upcoming practices or Time Trials on Sat morning.
